Winterfest returns to the Hawkesbury this weekend
Visitors can expect a vibrant program of entertainment running throughout the weekend, with everything from full-scale jousting tournaments and medieval combat demonstrations to archery displays and birds of prey flying exhibitions. Another highlight is Artisan Alley which will shine a spotlight on traditional craftsmanship, with blacksmiths, leatherworkers, weavers, woodworkers, silversmiths and ceramicists demonstrating their skills throughout the weekend. Visitors can browse handcrafted wares, watch cooking demonstrations and wander through market-style stalls as musicians, performers and traders bring the medieval village to life.
Visitors are encourage to get involved and join in on the fun, with many attendees dressing in medieval-inspired costumes for the annual costume and cosplay competition. Getting there
Hawkesbury Showground is around an hour’s drive north-west of Sydney CBD. Visitors can also catch a Sydney Trains service to Clarendon Station, which is just a two-minute walk from the entrance.
