The dazzling nocturnal event, Moama Lights, will light up the Murray again this winter. Drive out to Echuca, pop across the river to its twin town Moama in NSW, and admire this spectacular event. Moama’s Horseshoe Lagoon will come alive with a sound and light trail. There will also be ice-skating, food trucks and more wonderful things to see and do. Moama Lights will return from Friday July 5 to Sunday July 28.

Like its previous iterations, the festival will share stories from the region through state-of-the-art installations, projections and cutting-edge moving light technology along the trail. The theme this year is ‘Enchanted Nights: A Celebration of Light’, and it honours the beauty of Horseshoe Lagoon.
The show is inspired by Banjo Paterson’s poem, ‘The Daylight is Dying‘, and captures the stunning parts of nature that come to life at sunset. Wander along the illuminated trail, see illuminated ripples dancing on the water’s surface and feel serenaded by the sounds of the lagoon.
“The 2024 event is another brand-new experience celebrating the wonders of nature through an ever-changing display of captivating colours, spectacular sound and amazing local art,” said Mayor Frank Crawley.
Children’s artworks will be projected onto the landscape. The event will also showcase Indigenous artworks, crafted by First Nations creative Warrick Keen and Yorta Yorta artist Alkina Edwards.
After exploring the trail, pop over to the Kerrabee Soundshell area nearby and glide on the outdoor ice-skating rink. Ice-skating is available from Saturday June 29 to Sunday July 28, and costs $18 for skaters above the age of 5.
Then, check out some neon light installations, and grab a bite to eat from food trucks or the American Hotel beer garden.
Meanwhile, adult tickets for Moama Lights are $22. The trail will light up across four weekends in July, from Thursday to Sunday nights.
