Vivid Sydney has wrapped up its massive 2023 edition in style but there’s still time to check out a major highlight of the event — the multi-sensory Lightscape experience is set to run until Sunday, July 16 so there’s some time left to experience the magic. The immersive light and sound show which has made its way to Sydney for the first time ever features a number of exciting light installations including a tunnel lit up with hundreds of fairy lights, fire-breathing dragons and a sea of lights near The Calyx.
Lightscape, Royal Botanic Garden
After making the rounds in the US, UK and Melbourne, the Royal Botanic Garden has got a major glow-up thanks to this sparkly event. Start your 2.1km journey through this immersive world by walking through a field of giant flowers, then see neon roots bursting from the undergrowth and walk past a flickering fire garden all lit-up with stunning installations.
You’ll also find tree canopies, glowing tunnels and more in this highlight event. And don’t let the weather stop you from heading out, there’s a number of food trucks on-site dishing out winter-warming food and drinks that’ll warm you up from the inside out.
Lightscape will be open Wednesday to Sunday from 5.30 pm and will be spread throughout the garden with entry from the Queen Elizabeth II Gate via Sydney Opera House Forecourt only.
