The Rocks is bringing the golden age of jazz to Sydney this winter. Swing by on Thursday evenings and upgrade your week with free music sessions under twinkling lights from Thursday, May 9 to Thursday, August 29. Featuring some of Sydney’s best homegrown musicians, the free jazz sessions in The Rocks will delight Sydneysiders with smooth tunes, wholesome eats and delicious gin cocktails for extra warmth.
Jazz Sessions in The Rocks
We might have to wait a little longer for the cosy Laneway Cinema to return but The Rocks is bringing a new event to the city in the meantime. Taking over the heritage precinct from 6pm to 9pm every week on Thursday nights, the new offering coincides with International Jazz Day on May 30 and Vivid Sydney from May 24 to June 15. The music event will take place at The Rocks Square.
The May line-up includes:
- May 9 — Kate Wadey
- May 16 — Cope Street Parade
- May 23 — Alice Terry
- May 29 — MIRA
Visitors can also get their hands on impressive gin cocktails from the Hickson House Distilling Co cart such as their seven spice gin & tonic for $12 or native negroni for $21, or grab snacks from Sushi Yuzen and North Sandwiches & Burgers to go with the music. Add this to your list of romantic date night spots this winter.
The event is completely free to attend and no bookings are required. Find more information on the website.
