Sydney is not letting the unrelenting rainfall dampen its mood. Not long after Chinatown announced a vibrant new street festival , Sydney’s inner-city suburbs are joining in with a huge party of their own. There’s drag, art, food, poetry, music and so much more and it’s all happening in some of Sydney’s most vibrant spots courtesy of Eastside Unlocked.

Potts Point, Surry Hills, Darlinghurst and Woolloomooloo will bring the party vibes with over 80 diverse events spread across 35 venues.
Highlights include a Caribbean celebration at Rosie Campbell’s, a Natural Beer Festival at Bitter Phew, Murder Mystery nights at Grove Bar and a Rosé Festival at the Winery. In addition to this, there’s poetry, trivia nights, live music, comedy shows and more. The event promises to be a blast for creatives, partygoers and foodies alike.
“Eastside Sydney has so much to offer when it comes to culture, live performance, food, drink and more. We’re inviting Sydney to rediscover Eastside’s world-class restaurants, art galleries, cosy cocktail bars and iconic nightlife venues,” Manager of Eastside Sydney Lorraine Lock said.
In the spirit of spooky season, a number of Halloween related events are also on the cards. Watch out for Hotel Hollywood’s Horror Hotel Immersive Experience, Spooky Halloween Queer Cabaret at Dulcie’s in Kings Cross and a Halloween Drag Brunch at Bar Nina.
There’s a lot more on the horizon with a jam-packed program of events including 15 artworks and an immersive augmented reality art walk designed as a treasure hunt. Events are both ticketed and free and you can snag some here along with further details of the event. It’s all happening this October.
