Forbidden pleasures abound in Moulin Rouge! The Musical which is currently taking the Capitol Theatre by storm. The adrenaline-pumping production is all about the drama, fireworks, glitz and glamour and everyone’s invited to partake. If you’re planning a night at the theatre, make a beeline for Circular Quay where you’ll find an equally glittering pop-up taking residence at the Overseas Passenger Terminal Southern Forecourt. Inspired by the musical, this two-day pop-up comes to town on October 15 and 16.
Moulin Rouge! The Musical pop-up
At this extravagant pop-up visitors will find heaps of fun and interactive elements. There’s photo opportunities, made-to-order barista coffee and croissants, mini makeovers by MAC Cosmetics and Pinot & Picasso sessions — completely free of cost. Plus competitions and giveaways in the sparkling backdrop of Sydney Harbour. What’s the catch you ask? None at all. The pop-up is a celebration of the electrifying musical which is playing in Sydney until next year.
“Moulin Rouge! The Musical has been delighting audiences since it opened in May and the pop-up gives a taste of this incredible production.” Minister for Tourism, Ben Franklin said.
An exclusive Café L’amour will also set up shop slinging coffee and raspberry and chocolate croissants in the spirit of the show, while stocks last. And there’s more. Digital caricature artists will also be on-site, offering free and personalised drawings that you can take home as a souvenir.
It sounds absolutely grand and we know what we’re doing when the weekend rolls around. Read more about the musical here and snag some tickets on their official website while you still can. P.S. There’s a pre-sale on October 17 with a general sale on October 20. Set your alarm.
