The popular Yarrangobilly Caves Thermal Pool is one of NSW’s best hot springs and its most photogenic. Hidden in NSW’s Kosciuszko National Park, the wonderful swimming spot has long drawn swimmers and city dwellers to soak in the steam — while enjoying the fresh mountain air and beautiful vistas. Flanked by bush and mountain views, this dreamy open-air pool has now introduced an exciting feature giving us even more reason to plan a trip over the long weekend. Wi-fi services are now available at the thermal pool so you can enjoy the winter sunshine without losing connectivity to civilisation.
Wi-fi at Yarrangobilly Caves Thermal Pool
Partnering with Wagga Wagga-based company Zetifi, the NSW government has announced a trial of new wi-fi technology in and around the thermal pool and Yarrangobilly area. This wi-fi system uses satellite and cellular internet technology to keep people connected and able to call for help if the need arises.
The wi-fi is free of cost and can be easily accessed by scanning a QR code on the walk-in. The move is set to benefit not just visitors flocking to the picturesque pool but also emergency services and rangers in the vicinity. Read more about the internet trial here.
Highlights of the thermal pool
Wondering what all the hype is about? This spring-fed natural pool is 20m long and 2.5m deep, it flows gently into a children’s wading pool so everyone can enjoy a swim. The waters are heated to a cosy 27 degrees all year and are popular both during the warmer and cooler months. During winter, visitors can enjoy a swim surrounded by snow-capped views. The pool has a dedicated carpark but please note that the return uphill walk can be quite steep and NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service recommends looping back via Yarrangobilly Caves’ River walk and South Glory Cave.
