When it comes to quintessential Sydney activities, Twilight at Taronga is high on the list. The outdoor concert series has been an annual fixture on the music scene for over 25 years. After two years of cancellations, it is now set to return for 17 days of outdoor concerts at the zoo. Pack a picnic bag, dust off your shoes and soak in the stunning views of Sydney’s skyline when the action comes to town this summer.
Twilight at Taronga
Beginning this February, Sydneysiders will get a chance to enjoy curated sunset concerts against the backdrop of Sydney harbour.
The popular alfresco event has seen the likes of Paul Kelly, Wolfmother, Kasey Chambers and Broods take to the stage. This year will be no different with a packed lineup of exciting local and international acts.
Australian punk rockabilly band The Living End will kick things off February 10. Also returning is ABBA tribute act Bjorn Again on February 11 and Xavier Rudd on February 18. Australian musician James Morrison also returns on February 25 for an evening of soulful jazz music. Other acts include The Church, Kasey Chambers & Busby Marou and singer/songwriter Daryl Braithwaite among other stellar acts.
Music isn’t the only thing worth checking out at the event. Sydney WorldPride will host its inaugural Drag Gala on March 2 and attendees will get a chance to enjoy comedy by some of Australia’s best comedians on March 4 and the Comedy Gala.
Also on the horizon is the Lil’ Twilight show by Justine Clarke on February 11, especially for kids.
