Sydney and Darwin to be the first cities to welcome back our neighbours.
The idea for a ”trans-Tasman bubble” that would allow Australians and New Zealanders to fly between the two countries without the need to quarantine was first floated way back in April of this year.
Today, however, we have learnt that our Kiwi cousins will be free to fly into NSW and the Northern Territory from as early as October 16 thanks to the Australian federal government lifting the restrictions for New Zealanders only. This commences the rollout of the ”trans-Tasman travel bubble” and comes hot on the heels of the Northern Territory announcing their Summer Sale, which is offering up to 20% return on every $1000 spent at selected travel agents.
Unfortunately, there is still no news as to when Australians will be able to fly across the ditch but fingers crossed it is here before Christmas.
In the meantime, why not ease your worries and start planning your next holiday. QT Hotels and Resorts all across Australia and New Zealand are offering pay now, stay later deals valid for up to the end of October 2021. Hurry, because their sale ends on October 7.
