Nothing beats strolling around the city seeing Christmas lights and enjoying seasonal drinks and snacks this time of the year. Sydney is home to some full-fledged festive wonderlands but arguably one of the best places to experience it is the most historic area of Sydney’s city centre. If you’re already counting down the days to Christmas, you’ll be happy to know that The Rocks’ Christmas program is back and it is something you won’t want to miss. Watch out for Christmas trees twinkling with lights, charming markets, free Christmas movies, cosy drinks and countless fairy lights.
Christmas highlights, The Rocks
See a striking miniature Christmas village featuring all of The Rocks’ icons including The Tea Cosy, Harbour Rocks Hotel and The Argyle among others, plus, a mini Harbour Bridge illuminated in the backdrop along with giant snow globes, market stalls and pretty lights everywhere. This year’s program is also merry and bright with multiple festive celebrations on the agenda.
Laneway Cinema
Stroll the cobblestone streets and enjoy spectacular holiday fun from November 13 to December 25. On the agenda is a free outdoor cinema which will exclusively screen Christmas movies every Wednesday. Get in the spirit with your favourite classics surrounded by glittering lights, a giant screen, wine and cosy bean bags. Here are the movies you can expect this holiday season.

Homegrown Christmas Concert
On Friday, December 15 and Saturday, December 16, a two-day Christmas concert will take place at First Fleet Park with artists like Jack River, Dan Sultan, Josh Pyke and Lisa Mitchell taking to the stage. The Rocks’ Christmas Market
If strolling along a Christmas market is your idea of fun, The Rocks’ Christmas Markets will also be back with a diverse variety of vendors. Shop for gifts, handcrafted goods, jewellery and more and enjoy delicious street food and festive eats from around the world. The markets will take place from Saturday, December 2 to Saturday, December 24 from 10am to 6pm on Saturday and 10am 5pm on Sunday.
