After unveiling a dreamy wedding venue, The Grounds has introduced its latest venture and it’s a treat for Willy Wonka fans. A project that has been 10 years in the making, The Grounds Coffee Factory is a locomotive-inspired space which is promising to transform Sydney’s coffee scene. Celebrating the coffee experience, the factory will also feature a Willy Wonkaesque coffee transportation system and a working roastery that allows visitors to see the roasting process with their own eyes. The experiential cafe is now open in South Eveleigh.
The Grounds Coffee Factory
Spearheaded by Head Roaster Nick Ferguson and located in the historic Locomotive Workshops, the Coffee Factory is a love letter to coffee and the coffee making process. Guests can also expect a stacked menu of baked goods, breakfast and lunch options to go with the excellent coffee and even a delicious kids menu. Plus, a variety of interactive workshops and seminars will also be unveiled in the coming months including educational tours, coffee cuppings, and immersive workshops on brewing techniques and latte art for those interested in taking their love for coffee up a notch.
As for the decor, guests can expect an industrial-chic setting, with the coffee-making on full display at The Roastery. The design pays tribute to the building’s past as a former cafeteria for railway workers while also incorporating modern elements.
The Grounds Coffee Factory is now open from Monday to Saturday, 7.30am till 4pm for dine-in and takeaway. Find it at Locomotive Street in South Eveleigh.
Meanwhile, the Grounds of Alexandria has transformed into a purple paradise to welcome spring.
