It’s nearly springtime in Sydney and the city is in bloom. From gloriously golden daffodils to tranquil tulips and pastel cherry blossoms, signs of the changing season are everywhere. The Grounds of Alexandria is welcoming spring in style with its brand-new installation that will whisk you away to a purple paradise. Lavender Lane delivers exactly what its name promises — a tunnel of vibrant purple blooms and a symphony of springtime florals. Here’s everything you need to know before you plan a visit.
Lavender Lane, The Grounds
Like all its stellar installations in the past, Lavender Lane also features a number of Instagrammable elements including a beguiling walkway filled with canopies of pink and purple flowers and even a mirrored tunnel for added aesthetic. The secret garden celebrates Sydney’s favourite colour and the arrival of lavender, wisteria, and jacaranda season. The most Instagrammable cafe in the world will also be serving purple-themed food and drink including delicious mini blueberry cakes, lilac-hued floral fizz that combines grapefruit lemonade with a zesty splash of citrus and a subtle hint of lavender, and more.
By day, the space emanates the fragrance of fresh blooms and vibrant colour but it’s equally pretty at night with the garden illuminated with stunning purple neon lights. Dine at The Cafe or The Potting Shed to enter this beautiful laneway. This is a temporary installation so don’t miss out. Make your bookings here.
