Being locked up in a room with only one way out does not exactly scream ‘relaxing weekend activity’ to me but it clearly appeals to many others given the increasing popularity of escape rooms around the city. Now a brand new escape room has come to town and it’s seriously levelled up the game. The thrilling new game from the Cipher Room team is as exciting as it gets, complete with secret bunkers, an evil leader and several immersive elements.
The Cipher Room: La Rébellion
So what exactly are you in for here? Organised in a large space in St Peters, the space conceptualises a dystopian future in France with a tyrannical leader in power. You, along with your team, are part of a resistance group known as the Rebelles.
Loving the sound of it so far.
The Rebelles have got wind of a secret bunker owned by the despotic leader. Inside this bunker is something that could potentially help your cause, and ultimately bring down the leader. Your mission is to locate it. And fast.
Escape room enthusiasts will remember the Cipher Room’s Mr Pepper’s Toy Shop held at an abandoned warehouse in St Peters. Complete with haunted dolls and creepy clowns, it’s regarded as one of Sydney’s most brilliant and terrifying escape rooms. So you know you’re in for a quality experience with La Rébellion as well.
This particular game is all about theatricality, teamwork and a gripping narrative, putting both your intelligence and teamwork to the test. I have to admit even the skeptic in me is curious to try this adrenaline pumped activity over the long weekend.
La Rébellion is now open and you can book a slot here.
