Vivid 2024 has opened in Sydney with a stacked roster of immersive events and experiences. Aside from its mesmerising drone shows and hypnotic underground displays for Dark Spectrum, the Southern Hemisphere’s leading multi-artform festival has also brought an Australian-first event to town in collaboration with Sydney Trains and it’s set to transform the way you travel in a big way. Dubbed Tekno Train by Paul Mac, the hypnotic event will fill Sydney trains with light and music that match the train’s speed and reflect the dazzling views outside. The immersive event will transform Sydney train carriages throughout the duration of the festival with two special 60-minute routes for attendees to choose from.

The highlight Vivid Sydney event combines sparkling lights with synchronised music for a thrilling show. It will wind past some of Sydney’s most iconic sights including the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the picturesque Lavender Bay and more.
Attendees will have two 60-minute routes to choose from, both departing from Central Station. Take your pick of the Scenic Route that runs past a dazzling North Sydney, an illuminated Sydney Harbour Bridge and down a hidden spur line to Lavender Bay or step inside the Tech Express and travel deep beneath the heart of Sydney, travelling through City Circle and South Sydney. The Scenic Route is the slower of the two and suitable for families with kids aged 5 and up while the Tech Express promises a pulsating journey perfect for those wanting a fast-paced underground rave experience.
For the uninitiated, Paul Mac is a popular Australian electropop musician, singer-songwriter and producer who has now joined forces with Vivid Sydney for this immersive event.
The immersive train rides will run throughout the festival with tickets priced at $13.90 for children between 5 and 12 years of age and $19.90 for adults. Make your bookings here.
