The travel vouchers are part of a $500 million travel and tourism recovery package.

After announcing just last week that NSW residents would be getting extra Dine and Discover vouchers in time for Summer, premier Dominic Perrottet has announced a Stay and Rediscover voucher scheme in an effort to boost tourism within the state.

The Stay and Rediscover voucher scheme

All adults in NSW will receive a $50 voucher that can be used towards accommodation.

“We know that the borders will open, and we want to be ahead of the curve here in NSW when it comes to ensuring that tourism comes back with a bang,” Mr Perrottet said.

“These vouchers will be incredibly important in getting people out and about and enjoying the best that NSW has to offer,” he added.

The premier said that a pilot scheme would begin this year with the scheme officially kicking off across the state in March.

NSW Customer Service Minister Victor Dominello provided a glimpse of what the vouchers would look like on Twitter.

Who is eligible to receive the Stay and Rediscover voucher?

To be eligible to receive the travel vouchers, you need to be an NSW resident and over 18 years of age.

It is expected that residents would be able to apply for the vouchers via the Service NSW app and website similar to the Dine and Discover vouchers.

NSW reported 283 new covid-19 cases today and seven deaths. Over 81.6 per cent of adults over the age of 16 are now fully vaccinated with 92.9 per cent vaccinated by one dose.

NSW’s chief health officer Dr Kerry Chant said that crossing 92 per cent was a great achievement but that she would like to get to ’95 per cent or even above.’
