Omakase experiences are on on the rise across Sydney. Sokyo is now bringing a multi-course experience by launching a new omakase menu by Executive Chef Chase Kojima. The popular Japanese dining venue at The Star Sydney will feature a 20 course omakase, bringing both traditional and inventive variations to the table.

Omakase literally translates to ‘respectfully leaving another to decide what is best’ or ‘I trust you, chef’. The concept of omakase dining has been making waves in the city and Sokyo is the latest to jump on the bandwagon.
The menu will be a surprise each night inviting diners on a culinary journey as they experience rich and layered dishes.
We’re talking a delicious umami-filled grilled king George whiting fillet on toasted ciabatta bread coated with garlic aioli, the Abalone Sashimi steamed for 12 hours in its own juices, along with Sokyo’s famed nigiri dish.
The dining experience extends beyond the menu with spots available for only six guests per night, making it an intimate and cosy affair. Personally prepared by Kojima or Head Chef Daniel Kwak, the omakase menu serves as an ode to Japanese cuisine via an Australian lens.
“As part of our reopening last year, we wanted to ensure that every dish at Sokyo created a moment that feels like a performance and with the new omakase menu, we are offering diners an exclusive front row seat,” says Kojima.
This omakase experience will also extend to Kiyomi, Kojima’s signature dining venue at The Star Gold Coast, from Tuesday 29 March, with a focus on Queensland’s high quality local produce.
