Roller skating is one of my favourite nostalgic activities and it’s clearly enjoying a bit of a revival in Sydney at the moment. Luckily, it doesn’t look like just another passing phase. Along with Darling Harbour’s groovy Rollerama taking over the CBD, Parramatta is also joining in on the fun with it’s very own roller skating rink. As part of Parramatta Nights, the Skate and Play roller rink will transform the Prince Alfred Square into an exciting hub of activity.
Skate and Play, Parramatta Nights
From April 8-23, get your crew together and shake off all the bad vibes of the last two years. Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned skater, the rink is designed to suit everyone and available at dirt cheap prices. All roller rink session tickets are just $5 along with skate rental and if you have your own skates, you can access the rink free of cost. Also on site are a number of amusement rides to keep the kids busy while you skate away.
If you’re not much of an adrenaline junkie and prefer your feet firmly on the ground, head over to ‘The Lost Dogs’ Disco’ by ENESS which is a giant interactive and immersive public art installation that celebrates the place of dogs in our lives. 16 inflatable dogs will bark and howl along to a groovy disco beat.
But wait, there’s more. Find a family kids disco from March 20-27 along with dazzling shows by The Knickles from March 19 to 26 and a hilarious comedy sketch by duo Kiki & Pascal from March 20-27.
Also on site are a number of local eateries slinging your favourite food and drinks along with DJs spinning live tunes for you to groove to.
