It’s the season of premium restaurant residencies and all eyes seem to be set on Sydney. After French restaurant Mirazur’s takeover of Pier One on Sydney Harbour and UK Restaurant L’Enclume five-week residency at Bathers’ Pavilion, Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s eponymous restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay is popping up in Sydney for a three-day residency. Set to be its first residency outside of London, the three-Michelin-starred restaurant will take over famed harbourside restaurant, Aria this May.
Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, Sydney Residency
The residency is a collaboration between Australian chef and restaurateur Matt Moran and Gordon Ramsey, who have been friends for over 25 years. This one-off dining experience will feature a specially curated 7-course menu that flaunts the creations of Matt Abé, chef patron at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay.
Expect signature Restaurant Gordon Ramsay dishes but with Australian produce. Menu details are still under wraps but diners can expect dishes like shellfish ravioli and the kitchen’s popular pecan praline dessert. The residency will take place from Monday, May 8 until Wednesday, May 10. It’s priced at $495 per person along with a premium wine pairing for another $295 a head but this is one dining experience worth spending on.
“Collaborating with my dear friend Matt Moran, and talented chef patron, Matt Abé at Aria, with its magnificent views across Sydney harbour, and creating a menu that utilises Australia’s incredible local produce whilst delivering the finesse of our three-star Michelin menu, is a dream come true,” Ramsay said in a statement.
There’s no confirmation yet but rumour has it that Ramsay could also be touring the city in May. Set your alarm, tickets go on sale at 10 am on Thursday, April 13 and you can grab yours here.
