After launching direct flights to London and Rome, Qantas is adding another direct flight that will take you straight to Europe. Get ready to say “Bonjour!” to a dreamy European summer in Paris, with a new route starting from Perth. The Perth to Paris flight lasts for 17 hours and 20 minutes, cutting around three hours off the current fastest travel time between the two cities. It’s also the longest non-stop flight to France from anywhere in the world. The first direct Australia to Paris flight took off last night, just in time for the Olympics.
Perth, Australia to Paris with Qantas
Escaping the cold Melbourne winter for a classic European summer? Take a domestic flight to Perth, then switch to an international flight to Paris on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. This plane is specially designed for long-haul travel, with large windows, high cabin humidity and relaxing mood lighting.
The new Perth to Paris flights will initially run for four days a week, to capitalise on the peak summer period. After that, it will shift to three flights a week from mid-August. This new route will add 75, 000 seats between Australia and Europe each year.
“In recent years we have seen a significant increase in customers wanting to fly direct on long haul routes and avoiding stopovers wherever possible,” said Qantas Group CEO Vanessa Hudson. “Our direct flights from Perth to London and Rome have some of the highest customer satisfaction on our international network. With these new flights, our customers can depart Perth in the evening and arrive in Paris in time to enjoy brunch overlooking the Eiffel Tower.”
To celebrate the start of these Australia to Paris flights, Qantas has launched limited-edition pyjamas and Neil Perry-curated menus for the Business cabin. There will also be a special selection of films set in Paris, such as Amélie and Midnight in Paris, available throughout July.
Not interested in Paris? The new service will also act as a gateway, giving you the option to connect to over 70 destinations around Europe, including Barcelona, Munich, Frankfurt and Athens, as well as 12 destinations within France.
A “circle fare” will also be available, allowing you to fly to Paris, and return to Australia from London or Rome on the one ticket.
