Craving wood-fired pizzas and handmade pasta? Always? Us too. We’re all about Italian food here at Secret Sydney and if you, like us, are always on the lookout for new restaurants to get your fix of Italian food, we’ve got some news for you. A new Italian joint with a laidback, family-friendly vibe and an extensive menu has opened its doors in Wentworth Point. And it’s not just another run-of-the-mill eatery. Christened Papa Pasta, a team of ex-Merivale chefs are at the helm with the menu consulted by Michelin star chef Danny Russo.
Papa Pasta, Wentworth Point
Owner and hospitality veteran, Jimmy Vilaysack (Franky & Co., Fork & Spoon) aims to bring top quality food at modest prices to the table. Convening with Russo who has a number of high-profile hospitality venues under his belt, Papa Pasta is all about blending traditional flavours with contemporary styles.
So what’s on the menu? The signature dish is a Lamb Shank Parpadelle – that combines up to 450g of perfectly tender lamb in every serving. Complete with silky parpadelle ribbons and a rich tomato sauce infused with thyme and parmesan cream which provides the dish with a delightful bite.
Rigatoni, tortellini, gnocchi, spaghetti, fettuccine — if it’s pasta that you’re after, you won’t be disappointed. Other dishes that’ll leave you satisfied include spaghetti and mozzarella stuffed meatballs with tomato sugo and zesty fettuccine Chicken
with lemon cream. The ciabatta with truffle butter and melted mozzarella is another comforting dish to savour in this gloomy weather. We weren’t kidding when we said their menu was extensive.
With fresh pasta, a cosy ambience and affordable prices, Papa Pasta is sure to delight you and your taste buds.
