St Alma is redefining Mexican dining, one shared platter at a time.
There’s good reason to start planning a trip to the Northern Beaches especially with margarita season well and truly upon us. Popular restaurant Alma’s sister diner — St Alma, has opened its doors in the beachside suburb of Freshwater offering premium Mexican food and drinks along with all the good vibes.
St Alma, Freshwater
Providing diners with a blend of Mexican cuisine and culture along with a taste of Australia’s breezy beachside living, the restaurant is the brainchild of co-founders Jack Leary and Chef Tim Christensen.
On offer are premium food and drinks, great service and a charming ambience. After spending considerable time travelling around Mexico and dining in a number of local eateries, Leary and Christensen are bringing all the goodness of the east coast and southwest of Mexico and blending it with Australia’s excellent local produce and ingredients.
“What people don’t know is we signed a lease in Freshwater back in 2017 before opening Avalon, but unfortunately it fell through. Ever since Freshwater has been on our wish list for a restaurant venue — you can’t beat the location for its beach vibe and sense of community,” Leary says, speaking of their new venture.
Menu highlights
