A plate of nachos is great, but a tower of nachos doused in liquid cheese? Perfection. The Courthouse Hotel, one of Newtown’s favourite pubs, is changing the game by introducing nachos in a can, smothered in liquid cheese. That’s right. A can o’ nachos. These mouthwatering, cheesy nachos come in an oversized aluminium container chock-full of Courty’s excellent nachos.
Courty’s Can O’ Nachos
For so many of us lockdown was a time of culinary experiments. Remember dalgona coffee? Or all the banana bread recipes that took the internet by storm? For The Courty’s head chef, Kieran Graham, it was nachos in a can. And while the idea was pitched over a year ago, it’s finally come to fruition only now, thanks to all the lockdowns along the way.
So what’s the fuss about? The oversized can of nachos comes with four delicious fillings — beef, spicy black bean and tomato, dhal and BBQ pulled pork. Just feast your eyes on it for a second.
Once you’ve placed your order with your choice of filling, you’ll be served in a tall, circular tin on a tray with a gravy boat of liquid cheese. All the cheese and all the nachos you knew you always wanted.
But wait, there’s more. Once the tin is lifted, a staff member will pour even more liquid cheese all over the nachos. Always knew there was no such thing as too much cheese. The can o’ nachos are definitely designed to share with one can costing $35.
