Sounds On The Terrace Moves To Friday Nights With The New MCA Late Program

Friday is the new Wednesday at the MCA.

If you’re unable to do cultural outings during the week because of work and you’re finding it hard to find time on the weekend, then that’s okay because Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art has you covered. (Featured image: MCA)

MCA Late, the newest iteration of Lights on Later, is the Museum of Contemporary Art’s dynamic Friday evening program which consolidates the free exhibitions with ”something special” hidden inside the museum.

Now you can clock off and end the working week by moseying on up to the MCA Cafe to soak up the views of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. While you’re there, get a bite to eat and a drink before popping back down to explore the museum and find that something special.

That something special might be a musician, artist, poet or performer who has been invited to give intimate performances in the museum throughout the Friday night Late sessions.

And to make Friday nights at the MCA that little bit more appealing, the MCA has moved Sounds on the Terrace—the free monthly live music night—to the new Friday night slot. Brought to us by FBi Radio, the Sounds on the Terrace will feature and promote local artists on the Sculpture Terrace. The next Sounds on the Terrace will be on 5 February and then on 5 March.

Entry is free for MCA Late and Sounds on the Terrace with visitors being able to roam around until the MCA closes at 9pm.

MCA Late will take place every Friday night until Friday 26 March.
