Maybe Sammy knows a thing or two about awards given it’s made the World’s 50 Best Bars list a number of times. Now the chic bar is bringing its own cocktail event to Sydney with some of the best bars around the globe set to participate. Hosted by The Maybe Group — Maybe Sammy, Sammy Junior, Dean & Nancy on 22 and Public Hospitality — The Strand Hotel Rooftop, the festival will see 12 of The World’s 50 Best Bars of 2022 and three from the 51-100 list descending upon Sydney for a series of exciting bar events. The inaugural Maybe Cocktail Festival will also feature industry masterclasses and panel discussions for the local bar community.

The exciting list of participating bars includes Sips, Barcelona which was number 3 on the list, Alquímico from Columbia, number 10 and Jigger & Pony from Singapore at number 12. Guests can look forward to a number of free events across Maybe Sammy in The Rocks as well as Dean & Nancy on 22, Sammy Junior and soon to open, Mexican-inspired bar El Primo Sanchez. Each bartender will take up residency at one bar where they will wow guests with their unique creations in a three-hour showcase.
“We want this applauded, well-connected group of bar folk to experience just how good our bars are here. It’s really challenging for Australian bars to get the same global awareness as bars in Europe and the Americas as it’s easier and cheaper for bartenders to travel between those continents,” Maybe Cocktail Festival co-director Martin Hudak said.
The list of participating bars includes:
Sips, Barcelona (Spain)
Alquímico, Cartagena (Columbia)
Jigger & Pony (Singapore)
Hanky Panky, Mexico City (Mexico)
BKK Social Club, Bangkok (Thailand)
Drink Kong, Rome (Italy)
Café La Trova, Miami (USA)
Tres Monos, Buenos Aires (Argentina)
Line, Athens (Greece)

A Bar with Shapes for a Name (UK)
