Everyone knows Sydney beaches can get beyond busy in the warmer months especially big hitters like Bondi, Coogee and Manly. Thankfully, the city also boasts a handful of secret spots that haven’t been discovered by the influencers yet. From a disappearing stretch of sand to a harbour beach with a tiny waterfall, there are many charming spots hidden in the nooks and crannies of the city’s neighbourhoods. Nestled blissfully between Parsley Beach and Watsons Bay is Kutti Beach, a local, well-kept secret with glittering azure waters and none of the tourists. It’s a little tricky to get to but like many hidden gems, it’s well worth the effort. Here’s everything you need to know about the hidden harbour beach.
Kutti Beach, Vaucluse

Kutti Beach is hard to reach and feels like it’s worlds away, which is surprising given it’s a mere 20-minute drive from the CBD. The locals love this hidden spot and want to keep it a secret and you can’t really blame them. Backed by lush, green surroundings it offers a laidback vibe, striking clear waters and plenty of solitude — a refreshing contrast to the busier beaches scattered around town. Here’s what you need to know.
How to get to Kutti Beach
Half the fun of visiting Kutti Beach is getting there. The entrance is tucked behind a dead-end near the Vaucluse Amateur Sailing Club, making it easy to miss. But keep your eyes peeled for a narrow staircase that leads down to the beach — this is the only known public access to Kutti Beach. Head down the stairs, and you’ll be greeted by a row of beautiful beachfront homes, boathouses, palm trees, clear, blue waters, and a serene expanse of golden sand. You can swim, sunbathe or pack a picnic at this picturesque spot. Even better, it’s a dog-friendly beach so you can take your pup along. Hop on the ferry to Watsons Bay if you’re using public transport.
What is the best time to visit
Locals often make a beeline to the beach on weekends so this is when it can get slightly busier than usual but it’s generally a quiet and peaceful spot. Summer is the perfect time to visit for a refreshing swim and the weather is equally pleasant in spring and autumn. If you’re seeking total solitude visit in winter and you may be the only visitor.
Are there any facilities at the beach
There are no facilities at the beach so be sure to come prepared. There are also no lifeguards at the beach, so do exercise caution while swimming.
