Best Tiny Tourist Town in Australia
Flanked by crystal clear waters, a sprawling marine park, boutique eateries, and plenty of small-town charm, Huskisson makes for the ideal road trip from Sydney. Plenty of outdoor adventures are on offer including a peaceful bush retreat at Paperbark Camp, stunning white sands, and Caribbean-like blue waters at Booderee National Park. Water enthusiasts and nature lovers will have plenty to do with options for snorkelling, fishing, diving, and kayaking. There are also stunning bushwalks and unspoiled white sand beaches in the area. You could also spend a relaxing afternoon at a coastal brewery surrounded by incredible views. Even better, it’s just a short 15-minute drive from the world-famous Hyams Beach so you could spend the weekend beach hopping.
Huskisson triumphed over the charming town of Stanley in Tasmania known for its romantic offerings and well-preserved cottages and the lovely riverside town of Gundaroo in the Yass Valley of NSW.
Kiama was in the running for Australia’s Top Tourism Town but was beaten by the Tasmanian town of Devonport and Berry which also top honours in this year’s NSW rankings was bested by Exmouth in Western Australia as the country’s Top Small Town for tourism.
