Popular spots like Hyams Beach and Horse Head Rock likely come up when people talk about the NSW South Coast. But the region is also home to plenty of hidden gems, with gorgeous oceanfront views, plenty of history and fewer crowds. Among the seaside towns that could be slipping under your radar is Vincentia, which offers a quintessential seaside experience with water activities, sparkling white sand beaches, turquoise blue waters and coastal walks. This laidback town is home to 6.5 kilometres of pristine beaches stretching from Huskisson to Hyams, nestled on the shores of the Jervis Bay Marine Park which is popular for recreational water activities and home to penguins, dolphins and more.
Vincentia, NSW
Pearly white sand envelops the town with the picturesque Huskisson Beach located at a quick 5-minute drive, the little-known Collingwood Beach on the doorstep and the star attraction Hyams Beach just an 8-minute drive from town. If you’re lucky, you could even spot bioluminescence here. Orion Beach is another well-kept secret boasting white sands and lovely waters. You could spend the day lazing on the beach but we highly recommend the stunning White Sands Walk in the area that connects five lovely white sand beaches in a short but mighty 90-minute trail.
If you’re going exclusively for the water adventures, make your way to the Jervis Bay Marine Park. Spanning over 100km of gorgeous coastline, the park includes most of the sparkling waters of Jervis Bay and offers popular water activities such as snorkelling, surfing, scuba diving, swimming and a lot more. The town also has a great range of dining experiences on offer including The Salty Crab which offers outdoor seating and plenty of fresh seafood and Fishermens Wharf Huskisson which sits right on the water and serves delicious seafood for breakfast and lunch.
