A bone-chilling new event is set to take Halloween in Sydney to the next level. Ghost in The Rocks will bring ghostly markets, macabre street parades, and zombie discos to town this spooky season. But if you’re after a truly immersive experience, it comes down to one key element – movies. Thankfully, the festival promises to deliver a haunting open-air horror cinema where you can see your favourite classics under the stars in the spookiest setting. Dubbed the Ghost Cinema, the event will take over The Rocks from October 30 to November 2.
The Ghost Cinema Experience
Head to George Street in The Rocks to get your creep on and enjoy a series of horror movies from kid-friendly titles to seriously scary classics.
The cinema will play some kid-friendly titles, including Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Coco, but as the sun begins to set, the movies will get increasingly scary with titles like Annabelle Creation and The Conjuring. You’ll want to brace yourself for the final midnight session, which promises to be the most terrifying of them all. Newer releases include Sinners, Nosferatu, and the critically acclaimed Weapons. The Ghost Cinema will screen the following movies throughout the festival.
Plenty of movie snacks will be available on-site, including popcorn, M&M’s and chips, soft drinks, mulled cider, and more, so go hungry. Book your tickets here.
