The $25 vouchers can be used till June, 2022.
The NSW government is giving us more incentive to step out and hit up entertainment and hospitality venues around the city. NSW residents are set to get an additional two $25 Dine & Discover vouchers in an effort to boost the economy post lockdown.
The two $25 vouchers will be handed out from December 1 and can be used until Thursday, June 30, 2022.
The initial Dine & Discover voucher scheme was supposed to end on August 2021 but was extended till June, 2022 due to the lockdown.
Dine & Discover voucher scheme
For the uninitiated, the Dine and Discover voucher program entitles NSW residents to two $25 vouchers which can be used for dining at cafes and restaurants.
The Discover vouchers can be used for entertainment purposes at cultural institutions, performing arts venues, cinemas, and amusement parks. The program was launched in an attempt to boost local businesses.
Grants of $5000 will also be made available to businesses Premier Dominic Perrottet said.
“I want people to go out, like many people have, and support local businesses and enjoy the best food that we have in New South Wales,” he said.
Along with the vouchers, outdoor dining will become a permanent fixture to drive more people to the CBD.
The vouchers cannot be used for retail purchases or gambling and also exclude sale of alcohol and cigarettes. They can also not be used in conjunction with one another, meaning that two don’t become $50.
How do I get the vouchers?
You can apply for the vouchers through the Service NSW website or through the Service NSW app, if you’re an NSW resident. You will need two identity documents and an account with MyServiceNSW.
