From snorkelling and kayaking to beach lounging and scenic coastal walks, summer in NSW offers something for every traveller. While Sydney is home to some of the world’s most beautiful rock pools, there’s a hidden gem beyond the usual favourites that’s well worth the drive: Aslings Beach Rock Pool, nestled in the charming town of Eden. Often touted as the most beautiful rock pool in the state, it is enveloped by dramatic pink and white sea cliffs, sapphire-blue waters, and stunning ocean views. Whether you’re enjoying a leisurely swim, soaking in the vivid coastal scenery, or simply relaxing on the soft golden sand at the beach, this picturesque escape deserves a spot on your summer itinerary. Here’s everything you need to know about Aslings Beach Rock Pool.
Aslings Beach Rock Pool

One of the best things about Eden is its variety of activities, from whale watching and national parks to museums and beyond. While you’re certainly welcome to swim and lounge at the famous Aslings Beach all day long, the stunning rock pool at the southern end of the beach is the star attraction. Naturally replenished by the ocean’s ebb and flow, it’s the perfect spot to cool off, without jostling with the crowds and a favourite among both swimmers and photographers.
Another reason to visit: From August to November, humpback whales migrate through the area, with dolphins frequently spotted along the shoreline, too. At low tide, the rock pool is perfect for families and children can happily wade through the shallow waters and look for seashells along the way.
