Vivid Sydney’s bumper 2024 edition has just been given some serious star power with the news that Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning actress and comedian Amy Poehler will join this year’s Vivid Ideas program at the Sydney Opera House on Monday, May 27. The SNL and Parks and Recreation star will be heading to Sydney for the first time since 2015 for an intimate live conversation moderated by Zan Rowe.
Vivid Sydney — In Conversation with Amy Poehler
Poehler’s In Conversation will also include a special 30-minute first look with select scenes from the highly anticipated Inside Out 2 by Disney and Pixar. Poehler reprises her role of Joy in the sequel which examines the emotions of newly minted teenager Riley.
“I’m really looking forward to taking part in Vivid Sydney this year, a place that welcomes Joy in every way; I can’t wait to share a little of Inside Out 2: a movie that lets Joy and Sadness, Anxiety and Envy—all try to work together in hilarious and touching ways,” Poehler said.
The In Conversation event will take place at the Joan Sutherland Theatre with tickets ranging from $49 to $129. This will be followed by a dazzling 30-minute, Inside Out 2-inspired projection at Customs House. Get your tickets at Vivid Sydney.
Vivid Ideas hosts a variety of thought-provoking talks, discussions and experiences spotlighting ideas and creativity. Last year the festival hosted The White Lotus creator Mike White and star Jennifer Coolidge for an In Conversation event.
Vivid Sydney returns this month from May 24 to June 15 with hundreds of exciting events and it’s looking to be one of its best editions so far. The stacked program includes Lightscape at the Royal Botanic Garden, an underground party at the abandoned Wynyard Station tunnels and mesmerising drone shows.
