Aalia Restaurant highlights
The elegant menu aims to bring forgotten ingredients from the Middle East and North Africa to the forefront. Each dish has been carefully crafted to represent a particular region, or specific era of Arabic culture.
“Through food, we’re trying to showcase a beautiful region of the world which almost everyone seems to forget has a luscious coastline, flanked by oceans, rivers, and seas,” Executive Chef, Paul Farag says.
On offer are a few raw dishes and mezze, followed by a number of mains and sides apart from an extensive variety of desserts, drinks and vegans options.
The Persian Caviar served with malawach, diced shallot, labneh, and a sprinkling of chives comes highly recommended along with the traditional Murray Cod Masgouf – fondly considered the national dish of Iraq. Also on the menu is a delicious lamb shawarma, hand stretched halloumi and seafood options aplenty. Don’t forget to pair your meal with some fine quality wines and cocktails.

Their well thought out food concept reflects in their decor with a contemporary interior infused with traditional Arabic elements. Designed by Australian architect, Matt Darwon, the 150-seat venue has a touch of theatricality and warmth to it.
If you’re not acquainted with Middle Eastern cuisine, this would be a great window into the region’s rich culture. Booking are available from March 1.
