Sydney’s CBD is about to get a flagship store dedicated to all things LEGO and we finally have an opening date. The Sydney outpost is set to be the largest LEGO store in the world, offering brick aficionados (brickficionados?) the chance to drop as much money as their heart desires on sets of all shapes, sizes, themes, and complexities. For anyone who’s spent a Christmas evening breathlessly putting together a LEGO castle or Millennium Falcon, this place looks like it’ll be heaven for you and it’s set to swing open its doors on Saturday, November 11.
With 900 square feet of space given over to all things LEGO, the new store comes with plenty of bells and whistles – and bricks, of course. We’re being promised a storytelling table that takes viewers behind the scenes of their favourite sets, a ‘Pick and Build’ wall, and a knowledgeable array of in-store brickies to help you pick out the perfect set for you. Most excitingly, it’ll be the first Australian LEGO store to feature a Minifigure Factory, which allows you to create LEGO versions of yourself, family, and friends, so we’ll be getting the Secret Sydney team immortalised in LEGO for sure.
Decor-wise, expect to see a giant LEGO figure cuddling several kangaroos welcoming you to the store, and I’ll bet my left arm that respectably-sized models of the Opera House or Harbour Bridge will be in attendance too.
The new store will be found at Sydney Arcade and will dwarf the current largest store in the world, found in Leicester Square in London. Head here for a sneak peek of what you can expect.
