2. Museum of Fire, Penrith
Have you ever found yourself drawn to fire and firefighting? There is an entire museum dedicated to fire services and preservation of firefighting around Australia in the heart of Western Sydney. Spot fire engine trucks, fire fighting equipment, and memorabilia here from 9.30am to 4.30pm, 7 days a week. 3. May Gibbs’ Nutcote, Neutral Bay
Nutcote is the historic harbourside home of one of Australia’s leading children’s authors and illustrator May Gibbs and presents a fabulous piece of Australian history. The author who was best known for her story The Complete Adventures of Snugglepot & Cuddlepie, lived and worked in the cosy Neutral Bay cottage. 4. Sydney Bus Museum
Sydney Bus Museum is open on the first and third Sundays of each month and displays a variety of rare and historic buses. You can even walk in and explore some of the vintage buses and vehicles displayed here or shop for souvenirs from the resident gift shop. 5. Museum of Free Masonry
