NSW is packed with incredible coastal walks that come alive in summer, from the wild and rugged beaches of the Bouddi Coastal Walk to the sweeping views and natural wonders along the Kiama Coast Track. But if you’re after a coastal walk that delivers maximum scenery without a lot of effort, the incredible White Sands Walk in Jervis Bay should be high up on your list. Winding past the stunning coastline of Jervis Bay, this breezy 2.5km track links pristine white-sand beaches, with clear turquoise waters and expansive ocean views along the way. There are plenty of opportunities to stroll, swim or sunbathe along the way — all just a few hours’ drive from Sydney. Here’s everything you need to know about the White Sands Walk.
White Sands Walk, Jervis Bay

The easiest and most popular way to do the White Sands Walk is from the Greenfield Beach picnic area, meandering through lush coastal forest, open headlands and flashes of Caribbean-blue water along the way, with the track following a clear coastal line. From here, the trail moves between short bush sections and open headlands, gradually linking some of Jervis Bay’s most picturesque white-sand beaches.
Walkers will first be welcomed with the wide-open expanse of Nelson Beach, one of the quieter stretches in the area with spectacular white sands before leading to the emerald, tree-fringed Blenheim Beach. Offering a stunning bush and beach experience in one, it’s also an incredible snorkelling spot enveloped in dense bushland. The sensory overload of white sand and electric blue waters continues as the trail leads to Greenfield and Chinamans — the perfect low-key alternatives for anyone who wants to experience the best of Jervis Bay without the tourist swarm.
Next up are the world-famous white shores of Hyams Beach. Remember to stay a while and enjoy the scenery at the most well-known point along the route and you might even see a pod of dolphins. To take the longer coastal route, start at Plantation Point in Vincentia and follow the track through to Hyams. Also worth exploring is the nearby Booderee National Park, home to a botanic garden, beachside camping and more.
