Bodhi has long been serving Sydneysiders with vegan delicacies before it became mainstream. The family-run business which has seen the likes of Keanu Reeves, Tobey Maguire and more dine within its leafy interiors gained popularity for it’s organic, locally sourced ingredients and fairy-lit trees. Australia’s longest running vegan institution has now announced it’s shock closure with its last service set to be as early as next week.
The announcement reads: “We have made the decision to close while the business is still strong so that we could end on a high. We are incredibly proud to have been a part of the vegan community for so many years and grateful to have been supported by customers old and new.”
“It has been an honour and a privilege to be able to serve the community by sharing our passion for vegan food. We maintain our belief that plant-based is good for your health, your soul, your conscience, and the world around us.”
Bodhi made an indelible impression with it’s excellent yum cha, the most delicious vegan dumplings, mock meat and pumpkin and more. Its indulgent cinnamon scrolls and vegan pepper beef sliders were recently introduced to the winter menu.
The website mentions that this isn’t the end with some hope for future ventures by owner Heaven Leigh. The restaurant shuts its doors on August 27 with bookings open now. Head over to their official website and snag a spot before it’s too late.
