Sydney’s first-ever artificial surf park is now open. Like its Melbourne counterpart, Urbnsurf Sydney features a diamond-shaped surf lagoon driven by a modern and innovative Wavegarden “Cove” technology, enabling the facility to generate two-metre-high waves every eight seconds. Nine levels are available, ensuring beginners, experts and everyone in between can experience perfect waves all year round.
Their website states:
“Sydney is blessed with a large number of surfing beaches, but access to those beaches and crowding in the line-up is becoming an increasing issue. URBNSURF Sydney will provide an authentic alternative to ocean-based surfing for Sydney residents and visitors to #surfmore safely, easily and often.”

As well as catering to all levels, Urbnsurf also boasts a fully staffed surf academy, for those looking for some hands-on training. The 3.6-hectare lagoon will bring fun and vibes both during the day and night – thanks to LED lighting, the man-made surf park will dazzle after hours, with options to dip your toes in post-work.
Other Urbnsurf Sydney highlights include two restaurants by Applejack, exclusive working spaces, a rooftop bar perfect for summer evenings, a family-friendly pool for a fun day out with the kids, a skate park and a children’s playground.
Also on offer is a yoga studio if you’re keen to burn some calories while you’re at it, as well as hot tubs to unplug in.
Set in the heart of Sydney Olympic Park, Urbnsurf Sydney is expecting to welcome over 300,000 surfers a year, breathing fresh life into Western Sydney. Bookings are now open and you can make yours here.
