Sydney is getting another chance to relive the tunes of The Beatles when All You Need Is Love returns to the Sydney Opera House for three special shows in January 2027.
The popular summer concert will fill the Opera House Concert Hall from 1st-3rd January, bringing together four Australian vocalists, a 40-piece orchestra and a rock band for a sweeping live celebration of the Fab Four.
Jack Jones, Ciaran Gribbin, Wes Carr and Jackson Thomas will lead the performances, backed by the Strawberry Fields Rock Orchestra and The Day Tripper Band.
Together, they’ll perform 30 famous songs by The Beatles, including I Am The Walrus, Eleanor Rigby, Yesterday, A Day In The Life, Across The Universe, Let It Be and Hey Jude.
A Beatles spectacular built for the Opera House
First premiered in 2015, All You Need Is Love has established itself as one of Australia’s major Beatles concert productions.
This is far more than a regular tribute show, bringing The Beatles’ iconic catalogue to life on an expansive orchestral scale, with more than 40 musicians taking the stage.
The show also pays particular attention to the influence of George Martin, The Beatles’ celebrated collaborator, arranger, orchestrator and producer. A full rock band joins the Strawberry Fields Orchestra to capture the energy and scale of the original recordings.
Co-producer Phil Bathols says the show’s arrangements were created specifically for the production. “The songs are definitely popular Beatles songs, but they’ve been chosen because they lend themselves to orchestration. We commissioned all the orchestrations for these shows ourselves.”
Bathols and fellow producer Tim Woods have previously produced Beatles productions including The White Album Concert, Let It Be, Beatles Back2Back and Rubber Soul Revolver.
30 songs, four voices and one enormous catalogue
The Beatles may have spent just a decade together, but their music reshaped popular culture and transformed the possibilities of rock and roll.
All You Need Is Love leans into the depth of that catalogue, moving from intimate ballads to psychedelic classics and towering anthems. The production promises a night that brings the songs to life through four distinct lead vocalists and the combined force of an orchestra and rock band.
Previous performances have earned strong reviews, with The Music praising the production for having “earned every one of the three standing ovations they received”.
The show has been described soaring to “the toppermost of the poppermost” of the Opera House, while the Adelaide Advertiser called the show a terrific night out built around “the genius of the greatest band there ever was”.
A summer Beatles tradition returns
With the Sydney Opera House as its backdrop and the beginning of 2027 as its setting, All You Need Is Love offers Beatles fans a grand way to start the new year.
The production promises the familiar songs on a much bigger scale by combining the intimacy of four singers with the power of a full orchestra and rock band.
For anyone who still finds themselves singing along to Hey Jude, Rocky Raccoon or Let It Be, this is a chance to hear those songs live in one of Sydney’s most iconic concert halls.
Tickets range from $99 to $189, with Premium seats priced at $189, A Reserve at $159, B Reserve at $139 and C Reserve at $99.
