Royal Easter Show 2024
There’s plenty to see and do at Australia’s largest ticketed event, here are some of the highlights to have on your radar.
1. Animal experiences
Like every year, one of the highlight Easter show events is all the animal experiences and interactions planned throughout the 12 days. The popular Dog Rally will be back along with a pony competition, plus see rats, mice, reptiles and more along with the Sydney Royal Dog and Cat Shows and the Sydney Royal Horse Show. Find the full show guide here.
2. New 2024 carnival rides
Excitingly, the 2024 iteration will feature a series of fun new rides aside from the classic staples like the Cliffhanger and Sky Flyer. New rides include a 55m tall attraction and the fastest looping ride in Australia called the Warrior and a thrilling 24m high swinging ride with full 360° revolutions called the Joker.
3. Street Parade
The Street Parade will take place every day at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm giving visitors a chance to see a range of performers up close like a fire breather, a German wheel performer, push bike aerialists and even elephants. The iconic Grand Parade will take place on March 23 at 4pm, March 25, 4.30pm and March 30, 4.10pm.
4. Night-time entertainment
The festivities don’t stop once the sun goes down, head to the main arena at 7.35pm daily and be treated to a whole bevy of entertainment including riders performing thrilling stunts, a chicken run and a dazzling 15-minute firework display.
5. Food trucks
Once again, visitors will be spoilt for choice when it comes to loading up on strange, quirky and downright delightful treats at the Royal Easter Show. A bunch of familiar favourites will be on-site but watch out for this year’s kitschy food offerings including wacky apples like snickers, pretzels and sprinkles, parmi pie, lamington on a stick and mi-goreng fries.
