Sydneysiders will get a unique opportunity to explore the heritage Walsh Bay Arts Precinct this November. The city’s newest cultural precinct is hosting an open day with a curated program of events across Pier 2/3 and Wharf 4/5. Home to some of the country’s most dynamic performing art companies, the multi-million cultural precinct will throw open its doors for Sydney Open on the weekend of November 5-6.

Hear from Directors Peter Tonkin and Julie Mackenzie of Tonkin Zulaikha Greer, and Associate Director Grant Sandler, who undertook the transformation of the historic Pier 2/3 and Wharf 4/5. The 60-minute guided tour will take you through the world-class facilities of the cultural precinct and set you back by $60.
“The work that has transformed Pier 2/3 and Wharf 4/5 into the stunning world-class arts and cultural precinct was ground-breaking in its vision and innovative heritage conservation. These not-to-be-missed tours, led by the expert team behind the award-winning architectural achievements, offer a glimpse inside Australia’s newest premiere arts precinct,” Minister for the Arts Ben Franklin said.
Bangarra Dance Theatre, Gondwana Choirs, Sydney Dance Company and The Song Company are the resident companies at the precinct along with Sydney Philharmonia Choirs and Sydney Theatre Company located at Wharf 4/5. Australian Chamber Orchestra, Australian Theatre for Young People and Bell Shakespeare are located over at Pier 2/3.
