This year’s Night Noodle Markets are an at-home affair.
We already knew that we would not be returning to Hyde Park this year for the annual and fan-favourite Night Noodle Markets presented by Good Food Month.
What we didn’t know was that this year the new format for our beloved Night Noodle Markets would see the number of food offerings radically decrease, although, considering the situation and the logistics of running a 30-plus food stall market, we can understand the reasoning behind the downsizing. However, what we didn’t expect was to see the whole ‘market’ scene gone. The market, at least for 2020, is no more.
From 7 October through to 6 November, Sydneysiders will be able to get their Night Noodle Market order delivered directly to their door thanks to DoorDash. That’s no more trekking into the city, queueing up, jostling for space, and balancing noodle bowls with food on a stick and plates of Korean Fried Chicken while finding a place to comfortably eat, then realising you’ve forgotten drinks.
As mentioned earlier, this year the Night Noodle Markets this year will only see eight offerings, with each stall offering three or four options. Diners will be able to select whatever they like from each stall, as per usual, but this year the team at Good Food Month have put together three ready-to-eat banquets with a selection of the choicest bites from across all the stalls.
The Broc ‘n’ Roll ($69.50) is a vegetarian dinner for two. Date Night ($89) is a noodly mess. And The Bougie Banquet ($233) is double-trouble so consider who you’re sharing with before ordering.
The full menu is over at Good Food Month as well as DoorDash’s Night Noodle Market page. Delivery fees apply, but DoorDash is offering free delivery to first time users.
