This summer, Sydneysiders will be able to catch a movie under the stars in yet another beautiful location. The Sunset Cinema returns next week with an excellent line-up of movies from fresh blockbusters to old classics and family favourites. The summer fixture joins Moonlight Cinema and Westpac Openair Cinema in bringing back all the outdoor movie magic to the city once again.
Sunset Cinema
Hosted at the North Sydney Oval, the Sunset Cinema runs Wednesday through to Sunday, across 3 months, with a stellar line-up of movies on offer.
The 2023 program kicks off with new releases like The Menu and Whitney Houston biopic I Wanna Dance With Somebody. Relive the adrenaline rush of Marvel blockbuster Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Tom Cruise starrer Top Gun: Maverick. Throughout the school holidays, the outdoor cinema is bringing a heap of family friendly screenings including Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, the funky new animation Marcel The Shell With Shoes On and more.
Plan a special date night on Valentine’s weekend with romcom There’s Something About Mary on Thursday, February 9 and swoon over Ryan Gosling one more time with Crazy, Stupid, Love.
Other titles to have on your radar include critically acclaimed The Banshees of Inisherin, Steven Spielberg’s coming-of-age drama The Fabelmans and Australian-made film Blueback.
Other stellar features of the outdoor cinema include an on-site snack bar serving freshly popped popcorn, classic choc tops and a number of sweet and savoury snacks.

A variety of ticket options are available and gates open at 6.30pm with the movie starting at the last light around 8.00pm.
