The burgeoning bathhouse craze is sweeping the city with an elegant new wellness retreat set to join the ranks of Sydney’s premier relaxation spots. Before Queensland’s award-winning Soak Bathhouse makes its debut in Bondi, it’s already planning to expand with a new site in Alexandria. Set to be one of Soak’s biggest locations yet, the new bathhouse will feature a range of luxe amenities and a sensorial space to help you reset and unwind. Here’s what we know about the new wellness spot.
Soak Bathhouse, Alexandria
Designed for restoration and relaxation, the new bathhouse ss poised to become your go-to wellness retreats, providing a tranquil escape in the heart of the city. Located in the new $230 Million Bourke & Bowden development, just 4 km from Sydney’s CBD, the 700-square-metre bathhouse will feature warm magnesium-rich mineral pools, hot spas, and cold plunge pools, along with a dry cedarwood sauna and a steam room. Don’t forget to allocate some time to a massage, infrared sauna or LED Red light therapy, which can be added to your soak session or booked seperately.
Like other Soak outposts, this will also be a communal bathhouse designed to encourage in-person connections, where guests can relax together and build a sense of community.
The precinct will also boast adaptable work spaces, a culinary experience at street level, a central courtyard, and rooftop entertainment areas. You can also find several galleries and restaurants in the vicinity including the most Instagrammable restaurant in the world.
Soak Bondi is set to open in late 2024 and Soak Alexandria will open soon after in April 2025. Keep an eye on their website for updates.
