Paint the night away at the Maritime Museum.
For the artist, a glass of wine can spark creativity. But for the many of us that haven’t picked up a paintbrush since we were in high school, a glass of wine can help to settle the nerves.
Painting, though, is a whole heap of fun and thanks to Sip n Strokes, Sydney’s premier paint and sip art classes, hundreds of novice artists across the city have not only managed to unleash their inner Picasso, but they’ve laughed through the whole experience until their cheeks hurt.
Now, Sip N Strokes have teamed up with the Maritime Museum to elevate their art classes to another level, specifically onto the new rooftop Ben Lexcen Terrace.
Featuring spectacular city and skyline views, the new Ben Lexcen Terrace is the ideal setting for Sips N Strokes fun and relaxed art classes to take place. Taking you out of the studio, the waterside venue will inspire budding talent and encourage participants to give it their all.
But for those that are a little unsure of their ability, Sip n Strokes friendly artists-in-residence will be on hand to assist and offer sip-by-stroke guidance to help participants create their own masterpiece. Sometimes, we all need a bit of extra encouragement.
The Sips N Strokes on the Harbour after-hour art class includes a Brown Brothers bottle of Prosecco (200ml), or beer if that’s your preferred type of bubble, as well as an Australian Farmhouse cheese and fruit platter to enjoy.
If you’re still agonising over whether a thin or thick brushstroke will give you the desired effect you want, or if mixing this colour with that colour will give you the shade you’re missing, the Ben Lexcen Terrace bar will also be open to so you can keep on sipping until those worries fall away.
This after-hours art class is more than a fun and creative night with friends, it is a chance to let loose, relax and express yourself with a glass of wine, some colours, and a canvass.
Sip n Strokes next art class on the Ben Lexcen Terrace at the Maritime Museum takes place from 6-8pm on 10 February.
