Soaks and steam sessions have been dominating the fitness and wellness scene throughout 2024 and looks like this trend is poised to continue well into the new year. From a newly opened, budget-friendly bathhouse near the beach to an upcoming luxurious social spa in the heart of the city, a wave of new spa offerings is sweeping the city, and redefining the way people approach self-care and relaxation. Among the slew of exciting additions is Melbourne-born Sense of Self, which is set to launch its second outpost right here in Sydney in 2025. Far from your run-of-the-mill spa, this wellness sanctuary will span more than 1,000 square metres, making it Sydney’s largest indoor bathhouse. Here’s everything you need to know.
Sense of Self, Sydney
Bringing a fresh new vibe to the local wellness scene, Sense of Self will feature a variety of amenities including expansive mineral pools, spacious saunas, a Hammam steam room, and refreshing cold plunge pools, perfect for summer. Plus expect plenty of relaxation areas and private treatment rooms where you can unplug and relax at your own pace. To top it off, the Sydney site will also include a gift store for guests to pick up a memento on their way home.
Located on the border of Surry Hills and Paddington, inside a two-story industrial warehouse, the spa will feature a down-to-earth aesthetic with earthy tones, a moody palette, exposed brick, and expansive spaces that balance light and dark, reflecting elements of its Collingwood location.
