Exciting news, bargain lovers: The iconic global thrift store, Savers, has officially swung open its doors in Sydney. Located in Hoxton Park, the 1,590-square-metre store will stock more than 100,000 pre-loved items across clothing, accessories, homewares, and more in a space that measures up against the size of a standard department store. It’s expected that over 25,000 one-of-a-kind items will land in store every week, with most items priced at $10 or less.
The news is more than welcome in our ongoing cost-of-living crisis, especially given that shopping sustainably can still often involve a hefty price tag. As for its sustainability credentials, Savers has been a key player in the circular economy across its its 25 years of operations in Australia – last year alone, it diverted over 7.5 million kilograms of textile waste from landfill across its 12 Australian stores.
Beyond sustainability, Savers has also made a name for itself for its social responsibility initiatives – the retailer actively collaborates with non-profit partners to accept donations on their behalf which in turn help fund programmes that benefit the local community.
Savers’ first Sydney location is now open. Find it at Hoxton Park Central, 2 Lyn Parade, Prestons. For more info, head to the Savers website.
