Welcome 2022 in style!
After announcing a major waterfront event with The Phantom of the Opera, Opera Australia has gone ahead and added another spectacular outdoor event for NYE. The NYE Opera Gala set to be held at Cockatoo Island in yet another sparkling event will feature some of the country’s finest performers for a two-hour concert of opera classics.
NYE Opera Gala
The Opera Gala will be held at Cockatoo Island under the stars and it doesn’t get much dreamier than that.
The event will be hosted by Jonathan Biggins — famed Australian actor, singer and comedian. Tahu Matheson will conduct a full orchestra and an all-star cast of singers will include Stacey Alleaume who mesmerised Sydneysiders at Handa Opera’s La Traviata earlier this year along with Natalie Aroyan, Chanyang Choi, Diego Torre and Luke Gabbedy.
Primed to be a night to remember, tickets will include pre-booked ferry transfers along with a ticket to the performance and an option to add a 3-course pre-performance dinner, interval drinks and the post-show midnight party to your booking.
Meanwhile, there will also a massive celebration closer home with a stunning production of Puccini’s La Bohème in the Joan Sutherland Theatre complete with spectacular fireworks and the glittering Sydney skyline for company.
It’s the perfect treat for you and your loved ones after a tough few months.
