It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
You’d think after 106 days of being homebound, people would rush to the beach or to the mountains for some rainy adventures but nope. NSW emerged from four months of lockdown and rushed to….Kmart.
Just minutes before the clock hit 12am on October 10, hordes of people stormed to several Kmart stores across the state fulfilling the prophecy by a Twitter user that we shared with our audience this weekend.
Shopping frenzy at Kmart
Tik Tok user @dibzbaby shared the outrageous queue outside Kmart in Mount Druitt in a video that has since gone viral.
P.S. did everyone forget about click and collect?
@dibzbaby
Footage taken inside the store shows manic scenes of shoppers filling up their carts with clothes and homewares. Wild scenes all around.
Now that 70% of NSW is double jabbed, heaps of new freedoms have been rewarded to the residents including the reopening of salons, cinemas, pubs and gyms and at long last, people can get out of the house and do normal human things again.

me: what a sad comment on our society that when lockdown ends, people can't wait to seek oblivion and catharsis through gambling and the purchase of disposable consumer goods
also me: took the day off to go to the pub
