Nocturnal is back for its second edition, and it’s bringing another round of immersive experiences and more to town. Set to take over Scenic World in the Blue Mountains over the upcoming school holidays, the immersive light festival will feature light projections, illuminated forest walks, beautiful light sculptures, and much more. You can also ride the famous cable car at night and see the Three Sisters lit up against the darkness. Nocturnal returns from April 3 to May 11 on select nights. Here’s everything you need to know about the dazzling event.
Nocturnal, Scenic World 2025

Transforming Scenic World into a cacophony of colour and light, Nocturnal offers an interactive nighttime experience that is perfect for the school holidays. Explore the lush rainforest amidst glittering light displays, glide above the canopies on Australia’s first cable car, and discover various light projections about the local landscapes of the region. You can even hop on the world’s steepest railway for select nights only. This year, Nocturnal will feature new light sculptures, holograms, aerial lighting effects, and starlight lasers for extra fun.
As you drift into the night and make your way between clifftops, you’ll see the iconic Three Sisters rock formation lit up in vivid colour against the Blue Mountains National Park. Passes to Nocturnal start from $54.90 for adults and $40.90 for kids, with free entry for kids under 3. All passes include rides on the Scenic Railway, Skyway and Cableway and the illuminated rainforest walk. Get your tickets and find more information about dates and sessions here.
