Get ready to move it, move it. The Australian premiere of Madagascar – The Musical will take place in Sydney this December. All of our favourite friends from the animated movie are out in the wild, only this time they’re making their way to the Sydney Coliseum Theatre. Adapted from the hit 2005 DreamWorks animation, the musical revolves around a group of zoo animals who find themselves in the jungles of Madagascar and must adjust to living in the wild.
Madagascar – The Musical
The musical will take over the huge 2000-seater Coliseum Theatre, adding a major feather in Western Sydney’s cap. After sold-out performances across the UK and New Zealand, Sydneysiders can look forward to a riot in this action-packed adventure. The musical will be brought to life by imaginative and colourful sets, world-class puppets and fun new songs.
“This is a world-class production in a world-class Western Sydney venue that will delight local and visiting theatregoers; Securing world-class Australian premiere productions for Western Sydney like Madagascar – The Musical is a key pillar of the NSW Government’s goal to cement Sydney’s reputation as the nation’s capital for arts and culture,” Minister for Tourism and Western Sydney, Stuart Ayres said.
Just like the movie, you’ll follow along the adventures of your crack-a-lackin’ friends as they escape New York’s Central Park Zoo and head on a journey to King Julien’s Madagascar.
